A Book for Forty Thoughts. This book is a
subsequent, custom-made version of the small accordion book. I made it for a
friend that needed a book with forty different possible interventions.
It has
envelopes for storage, flaps and windows, circles that rotate and pockets for a
variety of other paper devices.
We chose this binding in order to be able
spread the book out on a table, either flat or standing upright, to maximize
the view of the book for the reader. The leaf shapes on the outside of the
concertina add to the idea of the book as a secret garden where the reader will
discover the surprises hidden behind the flaps and in the pockets.
